New Student Worker! - Jo Lewis-Barned
Friday 14th October 2011
New Student Worker! After a summer of exciting adventures I've arrived at St Saviour's! Taking on the role of Student Worker is both exciting and a little daunting. I've just come from Wycliffe Hall where I have been training for ministry for the last three years and have been a member of St Aldates Church. I became a Christian when I was about 6 living in New Zealand, and have spent the last 20 years of my life talking to people about Jesus. Arriving at St Saviour's is one of those moments when you look at your life and see how God has been busy preparing you for this place, realising that all those student experiences (over 6 years!), a life time of moving from city to city, a love of coffee, and being an extrovert who's most awake in the evening, are all things which God can use here. University is a really key time for people to grow in their faith or to come to know God, and I'm passionate about developing friendships which make this easier. Jo Lewis-Barned

- Dan Frith will help us get to a place where we can worship God with confidence and trust.
This is a day for building a really solid foundation in your spiritual life. The event will cost £10 (students £3 and benefits £5). Lunch will be provided.

FIRST TUESDAY - 7pm, 3rd May
Wednesday 6th April 2011FIRST TUESDAY is the name of our new format Prayer Gathering. We plan to meet and pray on the first Tuesday of every month at 7.00pm sharp for just one hour. It's designed as a no frills prayer meeting, as all we will do is pray together and sing the Lord's praise. We'll meet in the coffee lounge in St Saviours, and the idea is that as many of us as possible meet together to pray, and then end at 8.00pm so we'll have the time free to catch up with family, friends or perhaps the latest the Odeon has to offer. Maybe too we'll make some new friends and do something together. Tuesday 3rd May at 7.00pm is our first one. Do book it in your diary and, if you can, make First Tuesday a regular entry.
