Our Local Mission
As a church we encourage everyone who is part of the community to witness to their faith in Jesus Christ wherever they are. Corporately our main effort in evangelism is through the Alpha Course, run annually, commencing in the New Year.
We have established partnerships with local churches and Christian organisations to proclaim the Gospel locally.
These include:
- The Guildford YMCA
- Student Ministry at Surrey University and other local Colleges (in partnership with The Matrix Trust)
- The Guildford Town Centre Chaplaincy (in partnership with other local churches) -
- Guildford Action
- Friends International
- The Schools Relational Workers (through The Matrix Trust)
- Besom
Additionally St Saviour's is involved currently in five Local Mission Projects - underway or in preparation. They are:
- A Street Angel Programme (in partnership with the Guildford Town Centre Chaplaincy and other local churches). For their Newsletter, click here.
- Offering hospitality and a listening ear at St Saviour's to those at the local County Court. Also, debt counselling will be offered for people referred by the fines department, as well as parenting courses.
- Financial management resources
- A Money Management Course
- A debt counselling service - A Business Group looking at opportunities for closer involvement with the commercial life of the town and those who work in town centre enterprises.
- A group for management level people recently made redundant; offering help to get back into the job market, speakers and support.
