Mothers' Union is an organisation of 3.6 million Christians in over 78 countries who give money, experience and pray to support marriage and family life. We share a vision of a world where God's love is shown through loving, respectful and flourishing relationships: reaching out in communities, we change lives and bring hope.
The aims of the Mothers' Union are to uphold marriage and family life, to encourage the bringing up of children in the Christian faith, and to nurture each member's faith and walk with the Lord.
The Guildford branch meets on the first Monday of the month 7.45pm for 8.00 pm at various venues - for further details contact the church office (01483 455333)
Events
Caring for elderly sufferers of dementia is a challenge facing Society, and one often beyond the resources of the Welfare State.
The Mothers' Union, therefore, organised the Forum to consider the issues.
It turned out to be a memorable occasion, and the three speakers focussed on different aspects of the subject.
Trevor Adams, Head of Passionate Dementia Care, Farnham, explained the different forms of dementia.
Jean Davy gave a graphic, and at times moving, insight into caring for her husband, who has Lewy Body Dementia.
Rosemary Hurtley, a consultant occupational therapist, gave helpful insights into communicating with and caring for sufferers
of dementia.
It is hoped that the evening will lead to some positive action to help sufferers and their carers.
